Deb’s Dent: Reducing Harmful Emissions
Topics:

As the Director of Integrated Business Planning at Roush, I use research, forecasting, and strategy to help manage on-time delivery to our customers. All within a very complicated supply chain world.
And, I have the opportunity work on a variety of significant programs across a number of departments.
One program at Roush I am particularly proud to be a part of is our alternative fuel division. We call it Roush CleanTech. I am sure at some point in your life you or a family member have been on a “yellow bus” — that was a Blue Bird bus. Roush developed a propane powertrain that’s helping Blue Bird become a leading alternative fuel school bus manufacturer in the US.

Roush clean school bus technology was designed and validated to the most stringent standards and today, more than 20,000 Blue Bird propane-powered buses have eliminated thousands of pounds of harmful emissions — like oxides of nitrogen — that can cause asthma and other respiratory issues in children. These buses have also saved school districts more than $1.2 Billion in fuel and maintenance costs, allowing districts to hire more teachers, provide additional technology in the classroom, and fund sports programs.
Our propane-powered buses run quieter and cleaner, which is good for the environment and even better for our children.
It is a mission that I believe in. At Roush, we’re working to leave the world a better place than we found it.
